UMI Medical Journal

UMI Medical Journal (UMJ) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muslim Indonesia, Makassar, Indonesia. Founded in 2016, UMJ is dedicated to disseminating scientific knowledge and research in medical and health sciences. The acronym UMI stands for Updated Medicinal Invention, reflecting the journal’s vision of promoting up-to-date innovations, discoveries, and scientific developments in the medical field.

UMJ publishes original research articles, review articles, and interesting case reports covering a broad range of topics in medical and health sciences. Its scope encompasses basic medical sciences, clinical research, and community health, including studies involving both human and animal subjects. The journal serves as a scholarly platform for biomedical scientists, clinicians, public health researchers, and other healthcare professionals to share their findings, advance scientific understanding, and contribute to the development of healthcare.

The journal is published twice a year, in June and December, and is registered with e-ISSN 2685-7561 and p-ISSN 2548-4079 (ISSN-L 2548-4079). All articles are published under an open-access model, supporting the broad dissemination and accessibility of medical and health sciences knowledge.

Language Policy

Starting from Volume 10 Issue 2 and all subsequent issues, manuscripts submitted to UMJ must be written entirely in English. Manuscripts submitted in Indonesian will not be processed and will be rejected during the initial editorial screening. Authors are kindly requested to ensure that their manuscripts comply with this language requirement before submission.

All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system and prepared in accordance with the journal’s author guidelines and manuscript template. UMJ is committed to publishing relevant and scientifically sound contributions that promote the advancement of medical and health sciences and foster scholarly exchange among researchers and healthcare professionals.
